Overview

Private River Instruction 1

We know everyone has a different reason for taking a river training course. Our instructors want to ensure that you’re not just receiving quality training, but helping you grow as a whitewater boater. Increase your confidence and skills with customized, private instruction tailored to your goals and interest. Our professional team of instructors have diverse backgrounds running both private and commercial trips.

While our main objective is to teach you how to safely navigate your own craft down the river, other topics might include: boat rigging, equipment overview, river hydrology, essential whitewater rescue techniques, rope techniques, trailer safety and river etiquette.

Developing solid river skills takes time, and hands-on experience is the best way to build confidence. Our private river instruction allows you to practice decision-making, boat control, and reading water in real-time under the guidance of expert instructors. Whether you’re learning to row a fully loaded raft, perfecting your ferry angles, or fine-tuning your rescue skills, we’ll customize your training to match your experience level. With personalized feedback and on-the-water drills, you’ll leave feeling more prepared to safely and successfully run your own private trips.
